Our History

Shannon Park is a kindergarten through grade five school that was built in 1990 on 7 acres of land in Rosemount, Minnesota.

Shannon Park Elementary school sits on top of a hill which was once surrounded by rolling hills and fields and over two hundred sheep. Now Shannon Park is surrounded by housing developments and an Athletic Park belonging to the City of Rosemount. Shannon Park is part of Independent School District 196 (serving the Rosemount, Apple Valley, and Eagan communities in the Twin Cities suburbs).

I began my career in education teaching second grade at Pinewood Community School. After ten years as an elementary classroom teacher, I accepted a position at Falcon Ridge Middle School in Apple Valley where I served as an Instructional Technology Coordinator and gained experience in school administration. Four years later, I became the Assistant Administrator at Dakota Hills Middle School in Eagan. While I enjoyed my time in middle school, I am eager to return to the elementary level where my passion for teaching and learning began 20 years ago.

As a school principal and lifelong learner, I am committed to creating a positive, supportive learning environment in which all students feel valued and individual student needs and interests are respected. I believe school should be a fun, inviting institution that fosters students’ academic, social and emotional development. At Shannon Park, students engage in a strong, rigorous educational program that challenges them to reach their full potential through participation in an encouraging, inclusive school community.

I believe developing strong, collaborative home-school partnerships is an integral component of a child’s education. We invite and encourage families to become actively involved in their child’s educational journey. Family involvement strengthens and enhances our entire school community. At Shannon Park, we are very fortunate to have many wonderful volunteers who enthusiastically contribute to the success of our school.

Christine Golembiesky-Assistant Principal

Born in Little Falls, Minnesota, I grew up in a large family not far from the Mississippi River and the childhood home of Charles Lindbergh. I have been been married 19 years and have two daughters, ages 12 and 4.

I have had the privilege of serving students and families for over 15 years. It is my heart to develop students leaders that are courageous, reflective and kind. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I believe "Intelligence, plus character, that is the goal of true education." It is a privilege to be at Shannon Park Elementary!
